Sunday is Rabbit Day in Cambridge

The Heathlands Animal Sanctuary (Reg no 1067970) is holding an Open Day on Sunday May 14th.

Each year volunteers at the sanctuary bring all their rescued rabbits to one site and open their doors to the public for Rabbit Day in an effort to find good homes for them all.

With facilities for up to 60 rabbits at any one time and a huge waiting list, the sanctuary is always very busy.

Rabbits come in from the RSPCA, Wood Green Animal Shelters and individuals. They often arrive in a very poor state, most often as neglected pets, frequently bought on impulse and abandoned in a few months when the novelty wears off.

All bucks are neutered and many does. The rabbits are also vaccinated.

If you live in the Herts, Beds, Essex or Cambs areas why not come along for a pleasant afternoon? The volunteers will be giving instruction on rabbit care and advising on how to match lonely bunnies up with a suitable partner.

Rabbit Day is on 14 May from 2-5pm at Keepers Cottage 106 Cambridge Road, Wimpole, Cambs. (On the A603 between the Arrington roundabout and the Autostop Cafe)
