WSPA Animals 2000 World Congress

The largest international gathering of animal welfare societies ever looks set to take place at the Royal Geographical Society in London this weekend.

Hosted in conjunction with the RSPCA, the Animals 2000 Congress is being held over the two day period of June 16 and 17.

A welcoming speech is due to be given by Ken Livingston, MP who is a sponsor of the bill to abolish fox hunting.

Other speakers are expected to include Elliot Morley MP, Minister for Fisheries and the Countryside and Dr Richard Ryder, described as 'the chief moderniser of the RSPCA'.
