New Sunblock for Cats & Dogs

A new pet sunscreen has been designed which is 'lick-resistant' and it is claimed, will reduce the risks of skin cancer developing in cats and dogs .

Bimeda, part of the Dublin-based Cross Vetpharm group, and which set up a £3.6m veterinary products manufacturing plant and distribution depot on Anglesey last year, developed the sun-screen as part of its specialisation in chemical-free animal products.

The quick-drying spray has a sun protection factor of 23, has been successfully tested on human skin and is designed to be applied to the sensitive skin areas round the nose, ears and eyelids.
