Exports On-line |
The Ministry of Agriculture Fisheries and Food (MAFF), have announced that
applications for export health certificates for animals and animal
products can now be completed and submitted on-line.
The paper based application system for exports of animals and animal products has been supplemented by a new computerised system, Exports On-Line (EOL). The old paper system is apparently being retained for use by one-off exporters and individual pet owners since the new system requires a lengthy initial registration process. Regular exporters are being informed of the new system and are being invited to become registered users but newly established PETS Scheme agents are unlikely to fall into that category just yet. The EOL system is the result of findings by a project group set up in late 1998 to look at ways in which the internet could be used to streamline the application process and is part of the Government Direct initiative that by 2002, 25% of all dealings with the public should be capable of being undertaken electronically.
