PBWNews Suspended

Pet Business World News (PBWNews) the twice monthly trade magazine for the UK Pet Industry, has suspended publication until further notice. This sudden decision by The Dog World Ltd, based in Ashford, comes only 5 months after PBWNews obtained its Certificate of Registration with the Audit Bureau of Circulations Ltd (ABC). Neither Dog World's General Manager, Mike Boulding nor any of the editorial staff at PBWNews were available for comment and calls were today being fielded by Mike Boulding's assistant, she said: "[Publication of] PBWNews has been suspended until further notice, a decision on what is happening will be made next week." In response to my questions about the situation with existing advertising accounts and reader subscriptions she said: "The directors will be getting in touch with advertisers but at the moment I don't know whether another company will be taking over or what is happening." At the moment we have no news on what effect this will have on the planned PET INDEX 2001 trade fare which is organised and sponsored by The Dog World and Pet Care Trust and is due to take place at Birmingham NEC on 22-23 April next year.
