Holcot Press Take on PBWNews

The trade journal Pet Business World (PBWNews) has been bought up by the UK business publishing house, Holcot Press, for an undisclosed sum.

The deal which had been under discussion for some months, was finally signed late on Friday between Holcot Press and The Dog World.

Holcot Press, which is based in Buckinghamshire with a staff of 120, publishes extensively to middle market business in the engineering, construction, manufacturing, retail and telecoms, networking & IT sectors.

They are also producers of a series of business directories and industry guides which are published under associate companies.

Brian O'Connor, who took over as MD for Holcot Press on 1st August bringing with him the Global Trade publishing house said:

"We are simply delighted to have PBWNews as part of our stable. We think it can help add substance to our existing range."

Mr O'Connor went on to say that the acquisition forms part of a plan by the company to expand into more niche markets.

PBWNews, which is to operate directly under the Holcot Press name retains its Editorial Staff in Serena Nurse who recently took over as Editor from Rebecca Turner, and Hayley Stamp (Assistant Editor).

Serena Nurse said that she was confident that PBWNews would resume publication within the next two weeks and certainly in time for GLEE 2000, The International Garden and Leisure Exhibition, being held in Birmingham on 17th - 19th of September
