BA To Join PETS Scheme

A decision by British Airways to take part in the Pet Travel Scheme has been welcomed by the Minister of State, Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, (MAFF), Baroness Hayman.

British Airways will announce further information in due course when details of routes and arrangements have been confirmed.

Baroness Hayman said:

"I am delighted to welcome British Airways on to the Pet Travel Scheme. The agreement is in the early stages and there are many details still to be finalised but I understand that their involvement in the Pet Travel Scheme will begin early in the New Year. I know that this will be a very welcome move for many pet owners and their pets.

The scheme has been a great success. Over 9000 dogs and cats have successfully used it since its launch in February. We are continually monitoring the scheme's progress, especially from the perspective of the pet owner, and are taking positive steps to ensure that owners can use it to bring their animals into the UK with the minimum of fuss."
