(US) Galaxy Votes Allpets.com Top Site

The US online retail giant Allpets.com has been voted number one pet site by users of the internet's oldest directory Galaxy.com.

Allpets, owned by PetQuarters.inc, described the result, which follows a number of recent awards, as solidifying "its position as a leader in the online pet retailing space."

Galaxy announced Allpets.com as the winner at a reception during 'Internet World Fall 2000' in New York. The announcement reflects the culmination of Galaxy's "30 Days on the Internet" campaign, which ran throughout September.

Galaxy, is run by qualified librarians, (Masters in Library Science degrees). The directory consists of vertical subject categories ranging from pets to health. Like Yahoo, all sites are reviewed prior to submission into the directory.
