Pedigree Returns To Pet Index

Pet Index is to see the return of previously absent big names to its trade fare in 2001.

Pedigree Masterfoods and Ralston Purina will be among the traders exhibiting stalls at the NEC in Birmingham on 22-23 April which is good news for the Pet Care Trust (PCT) who took over sole responsibility and ownership of the show earlier this year.

According to Nick Grierson, CEO PCT, trade stand bookings for Pet Index are already over 30% with another 25% lined up which he said:

"Is easily are on a par with previous years."

This will be a great relief to the organisers who battled with earlier rumours that Pet Index was losing its position as the main industry event of the year.

To help promote the show, the PCT have just taken on Trevor Gill to act as Sales Manager.

Speaking last week, Nick Grierson outlined some of the planned highlights:

A Classic Car competition is being organised with hopefully the top prize of a mint condition MGB.

There are exhibitor seminars and a number of educational opportunities including planned grooming and microchip demonstrations.

Visitors to the show who pre-register by contacting the PCT will receive a cheque book of discount vouchers for use at the show and can book for the Gala Dinner to be held on the Sunday evening - which is expected to serve around 600 places.

To pre-register as a visitor or enquire about booking a stand e-mail: info@petcare.org.uk,
Telephone: 01234 273 933 (The Pet Care Trust)
Or visit the Pet Index site.

Places for the Gala Dinner cost £35.00 per head, pre-registration for the show is free.
