Menu Foods Loses Biggest Pet Food Contract

Pet food manufacturer Menu Foods, the company at the centre of the pet food recall in the US and Canada, has received another bitter blow with reports that its biggest customer, (so far unnamed), is to stop buying its 'loaf' pet food products from the company.

There is speculation about who that customer could be. Two canadian newspapers have published conflicting reports. The Toronto Star today reported that the client, worth 10.8% of Menu Foods' business last year, was believed to be the Wal-Mart chain.

The Globe & Mail reports the same story under the banner: P&G loss bites Menu Foods stock price. P&G, (Proctor & Gamble), is of course the producer of the Iams and Eukanuba pet food brands.
