Brits Love Hot Dogs - New Survey
In case anyone had any doubt that we are a nation of pet lovers, a new survey, yes another one, has revealed that the most common special request made by the British when planning their funeral.. is to be cremated with their pet!
Well okay.. with the ashes of their pet.
The research was released by Age Concern to promote its funeral insurance plans. In its press release, Age Concern felt the need to clarify the not-too-minor-point about pets being already dead before the funeral. Its note-to-editors reads:
"Requests to be buried with ones pet's ashes are adhered to if the pet is already deceased. Age Concern Funeral Plans does not organise the cremation of animals nor does it cremate animals following a special request made by the customer."
To keep us smiling, the organisation also gives us a top eight chart of our favourite funeral requests..the second most common is to be buried with your mobile phone.
Our Top 8 most common requests:
To be cremated with a pet's ashes
To have a mobile phone in the coffin
To ensure we are dead!
For a mirror to be held over our faces to check for signs of breathing
To be cremated naked, as we came into the world
To be buried in our own garden
To be buried with our teeth in
To be buried with all our savings
Have a great weekend, see you back here on Monday.. I hope.
