Animal Health Sector To Meet On Middle Ground

The Animal Health Distributors Association (UK) Ltd (AHDA), the organisation which recently told manufacturers and distributors of animal health products to get off the fence and give more support to their industry, has announced the date of its annual conference.

Chosen, says the AHDA, for its 'central location', the Royal Court Hotel, Coventry will host the event, 22-23 January 2008.

The conference is now in its 23rd year. It is aimed at small, medium and large animal health distribution companies in the UK. The conference will include exhibitors, a gala dinner, the Animal Medicines Training Regulatory Authority, (AMTRA) prize winners' ceremony and, on the second day, a programme aimed at SQPs which qualifies as part of their ongoing CPD requirement.

Announcing the dates, Ian Scott, Secretary General, AHDA said:

"The Conference programme features a carefully-chosen blend of speakers who will address the latest animal health issues, opportunities, veterinary medicine innovation and industry trends for all relevant livestock and companion animals."

Ian Scott, recently accused the industry of fence-sitting and failing to fully commit to the association. In not supporting AHDA he told the sector it was damaging its ability to lobby on issues which affect the entire animal medicines industry.

More information is available on the AHDA website. However, at the time of writing, the site is down and redirecting to its web development company. We are told it will up and running again on Friday.
