Urban Dogwear Site For Londoners (only)

A new UK brand of dog clothing and accessories launched this week. Targeted exclusively at the fast-living, modern, urban, city-dwelling, cool canines of London, Dogside emphatically turns up its nose at sleepy backwater, countryside hounds. The clothing range is being showcased online but you will need, a fast computer and a decent sized screen to make the most of the uncompromising high-tech Dogside website.

Its brooding black-urban animated backgrounds give this site a look like no other online pet shop. Chrome and black accessories and breathable fabrics are displayed on animated photographs of bullish looking dogs. It's all very stylish.

The problem though, lies with its uncompromising design. On anything less than a 1024 resolution screen the edges of the site are cut off. Even at this resolution the browser must be set to full screen. Not a problem you might say.. just use your scrollbars. You can't, Dogside has removed your scrollbars.

Additionally, on anything below a very good graphics card, the animated graphics become become rather slow and clunky which ultimately spoils the effect of the high-tech look.

Could it be that all Londoners have the latest top-end, high-spec computers? According to Dogside founder Adam Arnold, London is apparently way ahead of the rest of us when it comes to canine care..

A published Dogside survey claims:

  • Londoners spend more on their dogs than those living in villages (19% will spend more than £25 vs 7% of villagers)

  • Londoners walk their dogs more than the rest of the country (69% walk their dogs more than 2 times a day vs 41% of people in rural areas)

  • Londoners are a third more likely to walk their dogs at night than those in rural areas (94% walk early evening or last thing at night vs 61% of those in rural areas)

  • Londoners are also more likely than those in rural areas to walk their dogs just so they can socialise with other dogs (39% vs 18%)

  • Dogside says that everything it does celebrates how modern, city-living guys & girls live with and love their dogs. The products are designed to be both useful and stylish..

"Dogs will never look awkward in our jackets. They are designed for the urban dog."
