Cat Club Show Introduces Cat Agility Event

The 111th National Cat Club Championship Show at the Olympia National Hall in London tomorrow, is to introduce for the first time in its history, a Crufts-like Cat Agility Competition.

Cat agility is a recent invention out of the US. It requires a penned area containing a feline obstacle course. The handler uses a 'teaser' (toy on a stick) to lure their cat over, under and through a series of obstacles. The object of the game is similar to that of show jumping - to negotiate a course in the shortest time with the fewest faults. A set of rules, and specifications for obstacles, have been drawn up - and can be viewed on the International Cat Agility Tournaments website, (ICAT).

Doors open on tomorrow's Championship Cat Show at 10.30. The Pedigree and non-pedigree Best In Show events start at 13.45.

The National Cat Club reports over 100 stalls in attendance, (so plenty to see for the cat-loving Christmas shopper). The Moscow Cat Museum will also be there. The famous museum is host to paintings, sculptures, costumes, photographs, films, and many other feline related exhibits.
