Working Dogs To Deliver Mail

If you're a dog lover or a pet business dealing in canine products and services, and you occasionally or maybe even regularly use the Royal Mail, you might be interested in their next issue of stamps. Due out on 5th February, the special issue will feature British working dogs in some of their many vital roles.

The special issue commemorates the centenary of the first police dogs used in the UK. Six illustrations based on commissioned work by animal photographer Tim Flach, illustrate the different ways dogs assist us in the modern world.

Julietta Edgar, Head of Special Stamps, Royal Mail, said:

"It's easy to forget that there's a 'secret army' of thousands of hardworking dogs who make a real difference to many lives.

"I hope that this issue will help raise the profile of their important work as customers see the dogs on millions of letters and parcels every day."

One pence from every stamp sold will go towards an animal char.. er, no.. nobody said anything of the sort.
