New Addition To Cruelty-Free Pet Food List

The international animal rights organisation Peta is granting cruelty-free status to a growing number of UK pet food companies. The latest to pledge that it will not conduct harmful studies on animals is the Oxford based pet food manufacturer Organipets.

Companies on the Peta list must agree not to conduct or fund tests on animals in the developing, manufacturing, testing or marketing of their products. The only experiments they are allowed to carry out are food palatability tests on companion animals in their own homes.

Welcoming her company's addition to the list, OrganiPets MD, Liz Nuttall commented:

"Testing on animals is abhorrent and we admire PETA for its stringent assessments to ensure cruelty free foods. OrganiPets was inspired out of a passion for our Jack Russell, Raffy. At 15 she is the chief taster for our organic premium complete dog food."

Organipets joins other well-known brands on Peta's cruelty-free list, such as Burns Pet Nutrition, Haith's Bird Food and Supreme rabbit and small animal Petfoods. For a comprehensive list visit Peta's cruelty-free page.
