RSPCA Opens Garden Of Memories
A new pet garden of remembrance is due to open later this month. The RSPCA's Garden of Memories at the charity's headquarters in Southwater, Surrey opens on 22 July. It will join the growing number of tranquil pet remembrance locations around the country - possibly the best known of which is the CPC Garden of Remembrance at Thriplow Heath.
According to the RSPCA 55% of us bury our pets in a special place in our gardens while 22% plant a tree or plant in their memory.
Unveiling the garden yesterday, RSPCA CEO, Mark Watts said:
"A lot of careful thought and work has gone into designing this beautiful garden of memories in order to make it a real celebration of life and a reflective place for people to remember their loved ones whether it be a family member, friend or pet. The garden can be enjoyed any time of year and your tribute will be a constant commemoration of the life of your loved one."
For a donation to the RSPCA (minimum £250), anyone can commission a tribute plaque to be mounted in the new garden. For more information contact Sharon Gearing at the RSPCA on 0300 123 0100.
