Our Dogs Chief Reporter Resigns

The Chief Reporter at the Our Dogs newspaper resigned today after twelve years in the post. Nick Mays, who had been attached to the paper since 1991, has given up his post to become full time Editor of Our Cats.

Ownership of Our Cats is about to change hands. Once the sister publication to Our Dogs, the paper is to move from Our Dogs Publishing to Axis Cook Media Ltd. at the end of the month.

Leaving Our Dogs today, Nick Mays said:

"I have thoroughly enjoyed my time working for Our Dogs, both as a freelance and as Chief Reporter and I am very grateful to the newspaper for taking a chance on me all those years ago and giving me a shot as a reporter."

He continued in the outspoken style that his dog loving readers will now miss:

"It goes without saying that I love dogs and am always keen to highlight any injustice heaped upon Man's Best Friend, whether it's the Dangerous Dogs Act or the latest anti-pet policy dreamed up by some pompous local council official and Our Dogs has been at the forefront of presenting these stories.

"I've also enjoyed the contact, acquaintance and indeed friendship of so many people connected to the world of dogs and it's going to be very strange not to be involved in the same way. However, I do plan to keep in touch with matters doggy through Our Dogs as a freelance and as a canine consultant for the media."
