Put Some Glee Into Your British Summer

Always carefully timed to coincide with the height of the British Summer, the garden, pet and leisure trade event, Glee, returns to Birmingham's National Exhibition Centre, (NEC) on 21st September for three days. Expecting over 22,000 visitors and around 1,400 exhibitors, organisers tell us that this year will see the largest contingent of North American exporters in the show's history.

Glee show director, Daniel Thurlow explained why:

"The weak dollar and the strength of the British gardening and pet sectors has led to a surge of North American participation in the show. As these companies look to find new and growing markets for their products, they are increasingly looking to the UK as a natural launch pad for their operations in Europe."

The UK pet industry will of course be well represented in the Petindex part of the expo. This year's Petindex seminars take place in Hall 6 of the NEC. Organised by the Pet Care Trust, free attendance seminars will run throughout the three days. The programme offers practical information from established specialist retailers, groomers, kennel and cattery experts and others from across the industry.
