Vote For 21 Top UK Dog Walks

This year's vote to find the UK's 21 top dog walks is underway. From a shortlist of 52, readers are invited to pick their favourites. The competition was first run last year. Winners in 2007 included the Cherwell Valley in Oxfordshire, Loweswater in the Lakes and Richmond Park.

Dog walkers can help decide which walks make it into the top 21 this year by voting at www.21topdogwalks.co.uk. The pet food company Hill's Pet Nutrition runs the vote which is also supported by the tourist boards: Enjoy England, Visit Scotland and Visit Wales.

Tom Wright, CEO, VisitBritain remarked:

"The credit crunch and wider economic climate is making it increasingly possible that many more people will opt for a UK break instead of going abroad.

By providing a list of the top dog walking spots, we will encourage people to go and discover the fantastic beaches, parks and woodlands that the UK has to offer."

Voting closes on 30th November 2008.
