Pet Food Co. Launches Budget TV Ad Campaign

Worcestershire-based pet food company Fish4Dogs Ltd launched its first ever TV advertising campaign last week. Broadcasting for two weeks on ITV3 nationally, and ITV1, the in-house run campaign follows a Fish4Dogs national promotion (another first), of its fish treats which ran through September.

Speaking from the Copenhagen Dog Show on Friday, Jill Angel, Marketing Director, Fish4Dogs said:

"[The] first week of campaign has been very interesting - visits to the website have quadrupled in the last few days - and we are getting phone calls from pet shops saying customers are asking for the products - fantastic!"

"We didn't use an advertising agency - we did it all in house and with the co-operation and help of some of our customers, who love the product so much - they wanted to be involved in the ad campaign!"

The TV ad features a love story between two dogs - 'Bubbles' a pink poodle and 'Digby', a Polish Lowland Sheepdog.

Carolyn Menteith (Digby's owner and trainer) and Anita Bax (Bubbles owner and trainer) both gave their time free of charge. Bubbles is more used to the high-life as a highly paid canine actress - having just been in a film with Nicole Kidman.

Fish4Dogs launched its first fishy dog treats in September 2005.
