PATS Sandown Statistics

PATS Sandown has published statistics from its post exhibition report. Last week's event attracted 74 exhibitors with around one hundred stands. Just under a thousand trade visitors attended: 510 on Tuesday March 24 and 446 on the Wednesday.

PATS says more than 70% of visitors were decision makers with purchasing power and 67.9% of those buyers were independent retailers.

77% of visitors came from London and the South East,
11% from Wales, the Midlands and East Anglia and
9% from the South West.

Although PATS Harrogate, the north-focused show, will take place in just a few weeks, on May 5 and 6, visitors also went to Sandown from the North West, Yorkshire and Humberside. And from abroad: Canada, Sri Lanka, Europe and Northern Ireland.

34% of the visitors reported that they heard about the show via the trade press. The balance came because they had received personal invitations from exhibitors, from the show organisers, trade associations or recommendation by colleagues.

54% of buyers stated that they source products online.

Visitors came from the following sectors:

Independent pet retailers
Pet superstores
Specialist aquatics retailers
Specialist water gardening retailers
Specialist wild bird product retailers
Garden centre retailers with pet departments
